Adopt! Don't buy or breed!

I posted on my facebook asking what people want to see me write about and one of the comments I got was pet stores, like Debbie's Petland which was just closed down.

I am a strong believer in adoption of animals and I am against puppy mills and also professional breeders. I don't think that people should be breeding animals for a profit when there are so many unwanted animals in shelters that have to be euthanized everyday. Why should people be allowed to breed dogs to make money when thousands of dogs are being killed everyday across the country because there are too many of them in the first place. I believe that buying a dog from a "reputable breeder" is almost as bad as buying a dog from a puppy mill.

I'm not here to preach at anyone and you're allowed to get your dog whichever way you want. But I do advise that people adopt animals. There are simply too many unwanted dogs (and other animals) in the world for people to be greedy and try to make money off of breeding. And the people who are buying these dogs need to understand that just because your dog doesn't come from a licensed breeder with a bunch of pedigrees and trophies, doesn't mean that you aren't getting a great pet. You can still get pure bred dogs from rescue leagues if that's the reason you don't want to adopt.

But on the other end of that, "mutts" or mixed breed dogs are generally healthier animals anyway because they are not ruined by the genetic defects caused by selective breeding, like hip dysplasia.

I used to be part of an organization called "Dogs Deserve Better" which was focused on keeping people from chaining up their dogs outside. They were also advocates for adopting dogs. I made this youtube video while I was part of the organization, about the awful consequences of chaining a dog.

Great photos that I forgot I had

Well hello again! I have an interview tomorrow which probably means that I will be getting 0 sleep tonight (that's the number zero... which means no sleep) because I have extreme problems with anxiety! So I'm blogging again because I realized I have a bunch of photos that I can share with you guys. While on duty this semester and at some other random times, I was able to take photos of some pretty funny things. And now I'm finally getting around to posting them.

This one is a photo of Whitney pretending to lick a cup that's shaped like a lady. We found it at the mall and she almost bought it to bring to our RA training dinner.

This was after a huge snow storm at school my car got plowed in BIG time and I was supposed to take my car to the Worcester campus for class 20 minutes after this was taken. Obviously that didn't happen. I shoveled myself out that weekend and it took almost 2 hours with the help of a sidewalk plow!

This was taken one night on duty outside one of the houses on campus. Its a huge (probably was about 4 feet tall) icicle that was plunged into a snow bank. I thought it was really cool looking.

This is my brother Jordan, in a box.

This is a photo of the inside of my desk drawer in my dorm room. Obviously the occupants from previous years had more fun than I did.

This is a poster that was hanging up in one of the dorms. I saw this while on duty and got really confused. If you know what this is supposed to mean, leave me a comment.

Nick and I got really bored and filled this orange juice bottle with ripped up napkins.

Twister on spree day was a blast! That's Courtney's butt.

Found this on duty. Basically the college freshman care package.

This is a picture of the rig I had to set up in order to capture my brother's cat and transport him. He was too wild to fit into a small cat cage so I rigged a mouse trap and got him to go into a dog crate and then we had to tape a blanket over it so he wouldn't attack us through the bars... fun day haha.

I put paint tape on my mom's back...

I taped a cheese puff to Tim's door. It stayed there for quite some time...

My mom is an animal whisperer.... slash my animals are obsessed with food...

I'm a ninja. WHAT?! I actually just have my jacket on backwards with the hood up over my head and unsnapped so I could breathe... but I bet I fooled you!

Someone left this bowl and spoon on a tree outside on campus... they had to have their bowl, had to have cereal.

The inside of the milk jug that was in my fridge for a long time. It was yellow liquid and a big solid white square in the middle. Fantastic haha

Nick being creepy with Rebecca Black and her awkward limo friends.

Me partying it up with doglover!

I had this paint drawing saved on my computer..........

My friend Austin sent me this photo of me that he edited....

A photo that I had planned on posting to my facebook on spree day...It never happened.

He wasn't too thrilled that I interupted his down time while I was on duty... but I doubt he was actually reading that magazine because it's upside-down....

I don't give a chapstick!!

Everyone is talking about Osama being dead. And I do believe TMNTyler said it best.

But really, I do give a chapstick. I just tend to rebel from what the majority of people my age think is important. So here's my requisite post of Osama Bin Ladin biting the dust.
